SOME roads in the Mendips are still impassable due to the recent heavy rain and subsequent flooding.
Residents are urged not to attempt to pass Road Closed signs, as these are in place to keep you safe.
A spokesperson from the Mendip Neighbourhood Policing team said: "A reminder to all road users that some areas of the Mendips are still affected by the recent flooding and that some roads may not be passable.
"If you find yourself at an affected road and see 'Road Closed' signage or similar, please do not attempt to pass. These signs are placed by Police and Somerset Highways for a purpose, to keep you and other road users safe.
"If your vehicle experiences issues and breaks down in an area that has been closed by the authorities, you may find that your Insurance will not cover you, leaving you with a costly bill."
