A CHARITY has presented a Weston hospice with a £1,500 donation.
For her final act in office, at the end of what has been a challenging year, president Jeanette Thacker gave a cheque for the amount of monies raised during her time in office, through coffee mornings and bring and buy sales, to Weston Hospicecare.
Presenting the £1,500 donation, Jeanette recognised the special relationship that Weston Hospice enjoys with the people of Weston and surrounding areas who rely heavily on their services.
Kirsty Simmons, community fundraising manager of Weston Hospice, acknowledged the need for the vital support received from all quarters, which allows their work in caring for and supporting hundreds of families every year through difficult times, to continue.
