A Somerset housebuilder has smashed its fundraising target, raising more than £50,000 for its charity partner.
Barratt David Wilson Homes South West raised a record £56,297.37 for Star Scheme, the highest amount the team has ever raised for a charity, surpassing their target of £40,000.
The scheme is a charity in the South West that aids children facing poverty or mental health issues.
Dan Wooler, founder and chair of trustees at Star Scheme, said: “This huge donation will make a tremendous difference in our ability to provide crucial services to the vulnerable young people we support.”
Louise Ware, sales director for Barratt David Wilson Homes South West, said: “It has been our pleasure to support such a worthy cause over the past year which will have a positive impact on the lives of those in need."
One family who benefited from the charity include Crystal, 11, and Levi Jon, 7 from Weston.
Their parent said: "The scheme has helped my child a lot and our family and hopefully my youngest is starting in the new season.
"The scheme has helped my daughter with her self-esteem, and meeting new people, her skills have come on and her coach has been very patient."
