Congresbury Bowls Club have had another week full of fixtures as they progressed into the next round of the National Top Club in dramatic fashion.
The men welcomed Portishead RBL on Saturday and having lost two singles in the Top Club it all came down to the pairs, triples and fours.
The triples were comfortable winners however the pair of King and Shipway had a tussle against the Portishead duo.
Coming down to the last end and wood Congresbury needed the duos win and an outstanding bowl from captain Shipway gave them it.
However, there was more drama to come as T Lewis bowled an exceptional final wood on the last end to push out Portishead’s closest ball and give Congresbury the rink and match win.
A day later at Congresbury the men welcomed a very strong Bristol side in the National 2 Rink.
The rink of Wilcock, McElduff, Beck and, Shipway dropped a five on the last end, giving Congresbury a lead of one shot heading into the last end.
Powell, Congresbury's number two, then had a great shot which remained on the jack until the end of the game, giving Congresbury the win by two shots.
