Police have warned the public to keep a "distance" if they spot a "large non-native snake" on the loose in the Honiton area.
Robert Clifford, 34, from Essex, is "not familiar" with the area, and police are appealing for information to help find him after he left A&E.
The incident took place at 11.20am on Sunday, June 30, and the driver has been taken to hospital as a precaution. Police advise that people avoid the area of Rowberrow Lane as the road is "completely blocked".
