Somerset is preparing to head to the polls tomorrow (Thursday) – here is the full list of the candidates running in Sedgemoor.
Tomorrow, 230 prospective councillors will be running for 55 seats available across the county’s authority. The local election will take place between 7am and 10pm at 446 polling stations in Somerset.
Despite the announcement of a snap general election by Prime Minister Theresa May, the council has confirmed the timetable will remain as planned.
In the Mercury patch, council seats will be contested in Brent, Cheddar, Huntspill, Burnham North, Highbridge and Burnham South and King Alfred in Wedmore.
The three main parties are fighting it out for many of the seats, with the Liberal Democrats, Conservatives and Labour party competing in all areas, but UKIP also have a number of candidates running.
Votes will be counted after 10pm tomorrow 4 and the full results should be available by sometime after 3am.
The overall results will then be published on the Somerset County Council website.
