RESIDENTS and all enjoyed bright skies and sunshine for a traditional village show in Winscombe on the weekend.
Villagers met at the community centre on Saturday, September 10, for festivities which included baking, games and bouncy castles.
It was a 'roaring success' according to organisers, with donations now counted at more than a whopping £4,000 which will be used for the continued improvement of the village community centre.
Show secretary, Jo Risk, said: "The judges were hard pressed to choose adult winners of cakes and sponges for our Bake Off competition.
"In the arena we were dazzled by young dancers, entertained by youngsters eating doughnuts hands-free, and adults forcing down dry crackers before drinking a glass of cider.
"We held a two-minute silence, where hush spread across the previously noisy field.
"The day was also rounded off with a joyous rendition of God Save the King.
"We are hugely indebted to our village stores and traders. Though times are tough, they outdid themselves with offers of goods and services as raffle prizes. Our thanks go to them.
"We hope you enjoyed it and look forward to seeing everyone again next year."
