POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two people died in a car crash in Somerset on the weekend.
A man and a woman died at the scene of a two-car collision on Sunday, September 18, on the A38 between Tarnock and Lower Weare, near Axbridge.
The crash happened at around 11.20am when a black Audi Q7 and blue Vauxhall Agila collided.
Emergency services were called to the incident but a man and a woman in the blue Vauxhall died at the scene.
A man, who was the sole occupant of the other car, was treated at hospital.
The road was closed while collision investigators examined the scene.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police, said: "While formal identification has yet to be completed, their next of kin are being supported by a family liaison officer.
"Our thoughts are with them.
"We are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen the incident occur.
"Please get in touch if you saw or have dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage of anything which could help the investigation.
