EMERGENCY services were on the scene of a property fire in Weston earlier today, October 7.
The fire, on Clifton Road, forced the street to close in both directions and heavy traffic is reportedly continuing to build around Whitecross Road and Beach Road.
Police say there are no casualties.
Firefighters from Weston and Winscombe were called to reports of a shed fire at 10.10am today.
On arrival, crews found a fire in the front of a property affecting a portaloo and builder rubbish - this was also spreading to the house itself.
The cause is thought to be accidental.
A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue said: "With two firefighters wearing breathing appartus, crews used two high-pressure hose reels, a triple extension ladder and small tools to extinguish the fire.
"There were no casualties and crews spent time at the scene checking for any hotspots as well as isolating the utilities at the property.
"Police colleagues were also in attendance."
Earlier this morning, a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We're at a house fire in Clifton Road, Weston.
"The road will be closed while the flames are extinguished and an initial investigation conducted by the fire service.
"Please avoid the area."
