VOLUNTEERS are needed to help increase composting across North Somerset.
People with green minds are being urged by North Somerset Council to join in with a 'master composter' programme to help pass the knowledge of the practice to others.
The scheme, run by national charity Garden Organic, began earlier this year but the group is now looking for more volunteers as it opens a second training session later this month.
Volunteers will join an established network of like-minded people where they will receive comprehensive training and be provided with ongoing support.
Previous experience in composting is not needed to join but volunteers should have an interest in composting and a desire to support their local community.
The next training session will take place on Tuesday, October 18, at Yeo Valley Organic Garden in Blagdon.
Anyone interested should email Kate Eastment, Garden Organic’s project coordinator in North Somerset, on keastment@gardenorganic.org.uk or apply on the council's website www.n-somerset.gov.uk/mastercomposters.
