A KARATE club has announced its top students of the season.
Three students have achieved their first of ten ranks, known as a dan, at Weston Karate Club marking the first level of a black belt.
Aj Pritchard-Roberts, aged 12, is one of the club's youngest ever students to attain this level.
The club says he began training as a 7-year-old and wishes to become a trainer like his grandfather and grandmother who are both instructors.
Other successful students include Sam Hemmens and Sarah-Louise Weston who also attained their first dan black belt.
After the grading took place, Kiki Lagou gained his second dan and long-standing instructor Lewis Alder achieved his third. He is also only one of three to gain this grade.
A spokesperson said: "These courses are held twice a year and are only open to the highest graded students.
"Gradings are always a very stressful time no matter what your age or grade. It is said that for every student that starts a martial art only one in a thousand ever make it to a black belt."
