SOMERSET residents were greeted on Wednesday (March 8) by a blanket of snow.
Due to dangerous driving conditions, National Highways, in conjunction with the Met Office, strongly advised that travel was likely to be extended or even disrupted during the severe weather.
Road users were urged to heed messages on the overhead signs and listen for radio updates.
There were bus cancellations, such as the C320 service from Porlock Weir to Minehead.
Some schools across Somerset were also affected, with many partially opening or not opening at all due to the weather conditions.
These included Langford Budville CofE Primary School, Frome Community College, and Kilmersdon CofE Primary School, to name only a few. The full list of schools which were impacted can be found HERE.
However, while the snow did cause some inconvenience throughout the region, residents from all over Somerset marvelled at the glorious views.
