THE Winter Gardens Pavilion has said they are "angry and frustrated" as residents call for refunds following a performance of The Greatest Showman.
Posting on Facebook on July 29, a spokesperson from the Winter Gardens Pavilion said: "This is a message to say we hugely apologise for the show that was supposed to be The Greatest Showman.
"We are just as angry and frustrated as you all are.
"We have put our trust in an OUTSIDE events team, who we have worked with and booked many events through, The Greatest Showman being one of them.
"One of the acts of this show called in sick last minute so they had to get another one jump in quickly.
"The decision to cancel the show very last minute was a hard one, so we trusted to continue with the proposed brilliant show thinking there wouldn’t be any issues.
"We as a venue were so excited to be hosting this and we feel so so let down that now it has turned into this."
