AN ANNUAL scarecrow trail in the village of Lympsham has raised over £800 for two local schools and a post office.
The Lympsham Scarecrow Trail took place over this weekend (September 2-3), in aid of Lympsham School & Pre-school, and Lympsham Post Office.
Residents arrived at the Lympsham Cricket Pavillion in the morning to collect their map of the trail, before strolling around the town to admire participants' creations.
This year's theme was 'films'.
Rosie Phillips, co-organiser of Lympsham Scarecrow Trail alongside her mother Louise Allen, said: "We had a fantastic weekend, the whole village are still on a high from such a fun weekend.
"The weather was just glorious and with so many new faces in the village it was so lovely to see and meet people who had travelled to come and do the scarecrow trail.
"We raised £800.66 for Lympsham Post office and Lympsham school & pre school. This will be split equally and given to them this week, which they are super excited about.
"So many Lympsham locals baked cakes and sweet treats and these were enjoyed with the Pav cafe on Saturday and the Lympsham Pav bar open all weekend while watching men’s cricket on Saturday and ladies cricket on Sunday.
"It really couldn’t have gone better with Nanny chocolate and her family winning the trophy, money and prosecco for their wonderful creation of Charlie and the chocolate factory.
"We had 22 scarecrows who were based on films and it really was fabulous walking through the village seeing so many families enjoying the creations."
