THE Playhouse has responded after a customer called the theatre's seats "a disgrace."
The audience member, who also sent in photographs of the ripped seats, said: "These are the dreadful state of some of The Playhouse theatre's seats.
"Visitors are currently being charged amongst the top prices to sit in as my wife and I identified recently on a visit there.
"It's a disgrace and they should be repaired or replaced without delay.
"Some former acts of the theatre who took their time to visit every year such as Ken Dodd and Jethro would be horrified if they knew this is what their audience were being charged to sit on!”
A Playhouse spokesperson said: "The Playhouse seats have all been refurbished over the last eight weeks.
"There's a limitation to how many can be done at one time as they need to be removed but we're entering the last 20 seats that need to be covered and these should be complete by the end of the month."
