Uphill's Scarecrow Festival is still as popular as ever as hundreds of people took part, despite the weather, in the 16th annual event recently.
This year's theme was all about fact and fictional characters from British History and there were 70 scarecrows on show in Uphill.
Contributions included Boudica to King Charles III, Paddington Bear to Sherlock Holmes.
Stewart Castle, instigator of the festival and chair of Uphill Village Society which organises the event, said: "Everyone gets involved. On both days more scarecrows appear, I love the surprised look on people's faces when they tour the village and
come across the different scarecrows all over the place, from front gardens to roof tops and windows.
"This year there were over 70 to be seen and the quality of the built and design gets better and better"
The festival was only intended as a one-off event 16 years ago as part of the Weston-super-Mare arts festival but has become a firm favourite and annual event in the village calendar.
St Nicholas Church and Uphill Methodist Church opened their doors for refreshments and the festival is set return again next year.
