A STEAM locomotive from the 1930s has been spotted passing through a Somerset village.
GWR ‘Manor' No. 7812 ‘Erlestoke Manor' was captured chugging through the village of Crowcombe this weekend.
The beautiful steam engine was relocated from its former base at Severn Valley Railway, to the West Somerset Railway, earlier this year.
7812 ‘Erlestoke Manor' was built just before the beginning of world war two in January 1939.
It worked from the Bristol Bath Road depot to transport freight and passengers to several locations, including Weston-super-Mare.
Records show the historic locomotive frequently attended the sub-shed in Weston-super-Mare for day-to-day maintenance, refuelling, and cleaning.
In 2017, the train had a full engine overhaul, after it's original engine had clocked up over 100,000 miles.
After 6 years of work, it returned to service in April 2023 at the West Somerset Railway.
