WESTON College is set to host a captivating dance performance show inspired by classic sitcoms.
The college is one of nine venues across the country to pilot the Rural Touring Dance Initiative, which hopes to link new audiences with dance programmers and artists, to enable bold and diverse dance work to be presented and developed across the UK.
On Wednesday October 11 at 7pm, Weston College's Berkoff Studio will bring the DONUTS dance show to Weston-super-Mare.
Produced by Extended Play, DONUTS pays homage to 90s and 00s sitcoms by following the story of a group of friends as their relationship progresses through time.
Jamal Burkmaar, the international award-winning choreographer behind the production, drew upon his own relationship with music and its impact on friendships, as inspiration for the show.
DONUTS also features music from Jameszoo, a composer, DJ and producer who
recently featured in The Guardian for ‘Best Music Tracks’ longlist.
The soundtrack includes mainly jazz and funk, as well as 90s electronica and
classical motifs, to create an up-beat and energetic vibe for the show.
"Pay what you decide" tickets can be purchased from the Super Culture website, with a recommended price of £10, and a minimum of £3 encouraged.
