TWO coastguard rescue teams were deployed to rescue a woman and child who got stuck in the mud near the Grand Pier last month.
Both Burnham and Weston Coastguard Rescue Teams were called out on Tuesday, September 5.
Luckily, the mother and child duo managed to get free and no one was hurt.
Posting on Facebook, a spokesperson from the Burnham team said: "The first week in September saw the team paged to a string of mud incidents.
"The first was to back up our flank team Weston-super-Mare Coastguard Rescue Team after receiving reports of a woman and child stuck in the mud by the Grand Pier.
"As we were en-route to assist, the Weston team along with other assets were already busy dealing with the incident and as we approached, the good news came over the radio that both persons were back on hard standing and our assistance was no longer needed.
"This means we were able to return to station and had the bonus of no cleaning down before heading home again."
