A DOG who has been in RSPCA North Somerset's care for just under five years has been adopted by her foster family.
Cara the dog was brought to the centre in Brent Knoll following a large prosecution case, which saw a man jailed for keeping animals in squalor.
Cara was cared for the majority of the time by her foster family, who have since decided to adopt her.
Posting on Facebook, a spokesperson from the North Somerset branch said: "Well... after just shy of 5 years in RSPCA care, Cara has been adopted and now officially has a family!
"Cara came into our care as part of a large prosecution case. Despite this period of time in our care Cara was lucky enough to spend the majority of this time within a foster home, living life as all dogs should!
"With no hesitation she was adopted by her foster family and really will live happily ever after."
