A WESTON man who inflicted violence on a dog is set to be sentenced next month.
Lucas Slim-Fitzpatrick, 27, of Downside Road, caused unnecessary suffering to an XL Bully called Luna in Plymouth between June 1 and December 1 last year, North Somerset Magistrates' Court heard on Friday (November 17).
He inflicted "blunt force trauma, physical violence and multiple injuries of a non-accidental nature", magistrates were told.
He was convicted of the offence in South and West Devon Magistrates' Court in September.
Slim-Fitzpatrick was also convicted of failing to take steps to ensure the needs of Luna were met by not protecting her from "pain, suffering and injury and disease" and failing to provide "proper and necessary veterinary care and attention" for her injuries.
Magistrates in North Somerset committed him to Bristol Crown Court for sentencing and released him on unconditional bail.
