THE railway line at Flax Bourton has been closed due to flooding.

There has been heavy rainfall yesterday and this morning (Wednesday, January 3), with Storm Henk causing disruption across the South West.

A spokesperson from the Network Rail Western team said: "At Flax Bourton, between Nailsea and Parson Street, the railway line has been shut due to flooding.

"Our teams are onsite inspecting the railway."

This flooding will impact the following services:

  • Weston-super-Mare-Bristol Temple Meads (GWR);
  • Exeter St David's-Bristol Temple Meads (GWR and CrossCountry).

Those needing to use the train service today are urged to check their journey well in advance, as it could be the case that your train is either cancelled or diverted.

You can do this by contacting your operator or National Rail Enquires.
