WESTON locals have been reminiscing on a business that was "the place to see and be seen" in the 1960s.
Posting in the We Grew Up In Weston-super-Mare Facebook page, one local asked for people's memories of The Grand Central Hotel in the 1960s.
One commenter said: "I remember it from the 70s, great pub on a weekend."
Echoing this, someone else said: "Friday and Saturday nights the place to be."
Another also has fond memories of the business: "Many a great night started in the Grand Central. The place to see and be seen!"
One resident seems to remember the venue being popular for drunken brawls: "Remember one or two fights there over the years, some nights it seemed it was raining glasses. Happy days."
For numerous Weston couples, the venue has a special place in their hearts: "Had our wedding reception there in 1966."
