EVENTS to bless apples trees are taking place around Somerset this month (January 2024). 

Wassailing, which has its roots in pagan rituals, is the ceremony of blessing orchards to hopefully bring a good harvest. The event traditionally takes place on the Old Twelvey Night (January 17).

  • Midsomer Norton Wassail, Bath - Saturday, February 3 at 10am 
  • Hornblotton Wassail and Ceilidh at Orchard Park Farm, Shepton Mallet - Saturday, January 20 at 5pm 
  • Wassail at Dowding's Cider, The Chapel, Bruton - Saturday, January 20 at 5pm
