EVENTS to bless apples trees are taking place around Somerset this month (January 2024). 

Wassailing, which has its roots in pagan rituals, is the ceremony of blessing orchards to hopefully bring a good harvest. The event traditionally takes place on the Old Twelvey Night (January 17).
