A MOTORIST from Locking has been banned from driving after being clocked speeding at almost 90mph on the M5 in North Somerset.
Adrian Robert Hopkins, 43, of Elm Tree Road, pleaded guilty at North Somerset Magistrates' Court to the offence.
The court heard that he was recorded doing 87mph on the 70mph limit motorway at Junction 20 near Kenn Road on May 16 last year.
Hopkins was fined £169 and told to pay a £68 victim surcharge as well as a contribution of £90 towards prosecution costs.
He also received three penalty points and was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months "due to repeat offending".
The magistrates said he must pay his total court bill of £327 by Tuesday (January 16).
