NORTH Somerset residents are urged to take care when travelling tonight (Tuesday, January 9) as road temperatures in some parts of the region are expected to plummet to a "rather chilly" -4.2c.
Gritters have been out in Bleadon from 3pm this afternoon. Another run is planned for the early hours of tomorrow morning.
Drivers are reminded that ice can form even on treated surfaces. Go slow and don't take unnecessary risks.
Posting on Facebook earlier today, a spokesperson from the North Somerset Travel and Roads team said: "A Bleadon cold night forecast with road temperatures plummeting to a rather chilly - 4.2c.
"The Gritters will be out from 15:00 this afternoon with another run planned for the early hours of tomorrow morning.
"Please do take care when travelling, as ice can form even on treated surfaces."
