A professor has declared his support for the Donate For Defib project in Weston-Super-Mare.
Respected consultant cardiologist, Professor Graham Stuart, has partnered with the local campaign aimed at boosting defibrillator access.
His endorsement is very personal as he previously treated project staff member, Josh Bell.
Their connection traces back to 2001 when Mr Bell underwent cardiac surgery at Bristol Royal Hospital For Children under Professor Stuart's care.
Josh Bell later returned to the hospital as a senior nursing assistant, working alongside the very team that saved his life.
Professor Stuart is not just a supporter but acts as the project clinical lead ambassador.
He works closely with the team, providing medical consultation, sharing insights from his ongoing research and implementing changes based on his professional advice.
Highlighting the collaborative spirit, the team recently met with Professor Stuart to discuss the project's future.
They shared plans comprising of talks, conferences, and events aimed at raising awareness and support for this crucial cause.
Josh Bell and his colleagues have expressed deep gratitude, declaring themselves "delighted" with Professor Stuart's support.
Professor Stuart's unique blend of personal experience and professional expertise brings an important, authoritative voice to the Donate For Defib initiative.
