IN 2016, a group of Star Wars characters braved the cold and wet North Somerset weather to raise £1,333.49 for Cancer Research UK.
The group, who were dressed in Star Wars costumes, started in Locking Village and finished at the riverside in Cheddar following a brief stop in Winscombe.
Speaking at the time, walk leader Roxanne Hurrell said: “Everyone kept each other going because of the horrendous weather.
“We did the walk in aid of Cancer Research for (friend) Steve Hucker, who has bowel cancer.
“We managed to raise a lot of money just from our walk on Saturday with people stopping in their cars and people from shops donating money to our charity box, which we were carrying.”
The charity works day in, day out to research cancer and support those with the disease.
The organisation's website reads: "Cancer Research UK was formed 20 years ago, in 2002. However, our history goes back much further, to 1902, with the founding of the Imperial Cancer Research Fund.
"Thanks to supporters like you, our pioneering work into how to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer has benefitted millions of lives over the past 120 years."
