SCHOOL staff and business across Weston have banded together to open up a 'prom shop' at Broadoak Academy.
The shop has launched so that students can enjoy a memorable night without breaking the bank.
The shop, which aims to ease the pressures of the cost-of-living crisis, features over 200 dress, 140 of which are brand new.
It is hoped that reusing some outfits will lend a sustainable element to the shopping experience.
The store also features accessories such as bags, shoes, and jewellery, creating a one-stop destination for all prom essentials.
Everything in the shop has been donated by Broadoak staff and local businesses.
This includes The Lucy Ellis Foundation, which donated over 70 dresses, as well as White Collection, which donated 30.
Other businesses which donated include Posh Frocks, Next, Naked Dresses, White Lace and Promises, and Deane and Sons.
Bella Charman, SENDCO, and Chloe Garty, finance and admin assistant, said: “Witnessing our community come together to bring our prom shop to life is genuinely heartening.
"Every donation, no matter the size, has played a crucial role in ensuring our fellow students have a prom they'll cherish for years to come.
“The outpouring of generosity reflects the unity within our community, and we extend our deepest thanks to everyone who has contributed to the success of the prom shop.
"It's more than just dresses, suits, and accessories; it's about creating lasting memories for our students.
“We're not merely establishing a prom shop; we're fostering a sense of togetherness and shared joy.
"So, to everyone who contributed, your kindness will be eternally cherished by all of us, and we will never forget what you have done for our students.”
Broadoak Academy, which is part of the Cabot Learning Federation, received a 'Good' Ofsted rating following its inspection in November 2023.
This is the first inspection the school has received since joining the federation and since Covid restrictions were lifted.
The school was praised for building a positive ethos which encourages students to feel confident and safe.
It was also noted that staff have made significant efforts to improve student attendance and attainment, all the while looking after their own wellbeing.
