A rising star jazz band are coming to Weston-super-Mare as part of a monthly residency.
The Eddie Gripper Trio, featuring seasoned musicians Eddie Gripper, Ursula Harrison, and Patrick Barrett-Donlon, will perform at Revo Kitchen on February 18.
They have been silently making a name for themselves in the international music scene, beginning their journey in Oxford and are now based in Cardiff.
The remarkably talented pianist and frontman Eddie Gripper released his debut album, titled Home, on Ubuntu Records in March 2023.
His minimalist improvisation lends a heart-warming essence to his thoughtful compositions.
Gifted at a young age, Mr Gripper presents a mastery over his instrument that many spend a lifetime striving for.
This prowess is easily witnessed in Home, an album that Sheila Smith of Jazzwise Magazine described as "a critically acclaimed debut that's already garnered comparisons with the greats".
Equally skilled musicians Ms Harrison and Mr Barrett-Donlon on bass and drums, respectively, enrich the vibrant ensemble.
The combined result is a clear-cut chemistry that is especially captivating to watch.
The trio have graced stages in numerous international music venues and festivals, receiving praise from critics and music fans alike.
They've earned a four-star rating from The Jazz Mann who noted: "Gripper is a multi-faceted writer and his compositions are full of delightful and unexpected twists and turns."
They promise a performance that will lure jazz enthusiasts in Weston and beyond.
