TWO people have been sent to hospital with "serious" injuries following a three vehicle collision on the M5 this afternoon (Monday, February 12).
Emergency services were called to J21 (Weston) northbound on the M5 at around 12.30pm today.
Crews worked to recover the vehicles and make the scene safe. Motorists experienced delays of around 30 minutes between Weston and Clevedon.
Two people were taken to hospital. It is believed that their injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.
A spokesperson from the Avon and Somerset Police force said: "We were called shortly before 12.30pm this afternoon to reports of a three-vehicle collision on the M5 northbound, near the junction for Weston-super-Mare.
"Officers attended alongside the ambulance and fire services and the road was closed to recover the vehicles.
"Two people were taken to hospital by the ambulance service with injuries believed to be serious, but not life-threatening or life-changing.
"The road was fully opened shortly after 2pm."
