WESTON'S much-anticipated GLOW Light Festival welcomed around 2,500 visitors on its opening night yesterday (Tuesday, February 13).
The event, which will run until Saturday, February 17, features dazzling light installations at its main site in Grove Park and at select sites around town, such as the Italian Gardens and The Grand Pier.
Paul Birtwistle, a Weston-based artist and producer, designed the festival, which is being presented in partnership with Super Culture, Weston-super-Mare Town Council, The Grand Pier and PYTCH.
The first night of the light festival received some great feedback.
A spokesperson from Super Culture told the Weston Mercury: "Everybody wants a bit of GLOW.
"We saw around 2,500 through the doors, it was absolutely lovely.
"We got some lovely feedback."
Residents of all ages were amazed by the displays, some of which are interactive, such as the Light Hearted installation on the pier.
There are still some tickets available for later slots. These can be purchased on the Super Culture website.
