THE mayor of Weston, Cllr Ciaran Cronnelly, spoke to local students last week about the importance of democracy.
The mayor visited Weston College in celebration of Colleges Week 2024.
During his talk, Cllr Cronnelly spoke about how important it is to register to vote and have your say in local government.
The mayor mentioned that students can get involved with democracy at a college level by working with the Student Union.
A Weston College spokesperson said: "It's CollegesWeek2024, with this year's celebrations focussing on democracy and government!
"Last week we were joined by the fantastic Ciaran Cronnelly, the mayor of Weston-super-Mare for a talk all about how local government works, and how students can get involved and have their say!"
Cllr Cronnelly added: "I recently spoke to students at Weston College about the importance of local government and democracy, and how they can get involved."
