A local self-published author is set to release a new book called Vision Quest: The Hero's Journey.
George Thistlewood is based in Weston-super-Mare in South West England.
His new title offers a story centred around the rites of passage for young men in ancient Celtic times.
In Vision Quest: The Hero's Journey, the protagonist, Kesh, undergoes a heroic quest alone in the Great Forest, a rite in itself.
The young man's encounters and trials lead him to discover various dimensions of his spirituality.
Framed in this ancient Celtic setting, Mr Thistlewood's narrative artfully interweaves facets of his knowledge drawn from Druid and Wiccan wisdom, Celtic Medicine Wheel, and Tree Lore.
Mr Thistlewood, in life as in his writing, has shared an intermingling of engineering and metaphysics, having started as an aerospace engineer, only to heed the call of alternative spirituality and eventually, writing.
His resume includes certifications in Shiatsu, Shamanic Healing, and Transpersonal Hypnotherapy.
George Thistlewood, prior to this book, published The Touchwood Chronicles, a trilogy.
