THE A370 Weston Road/Bristol Road was closed earlier today following a collision which prompted a response from police, fire, and ambulance crews.
Two fire engines could be seen at the incident between Hewish and Congresbury, along with an ambulance, and police cars.
Police say a motorcyclist collided with a van and ended up in a rhyne - the rider was taken to hospital by ambulance.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "Emergency services have responded to a report of a collision on the A370 between Hewish and Congresbury which was called in at 12.55pm today, Friday, March 8.
"Police, fire and ambulance crews attended after a motorcyclist ended up in a rhyne following a collision with a van.
"The man has gone to hospital by ambulance with injuries not currently believed to be either life-threatening or life-changing. Next of kin are aware.
"The road reopened at about 2pm."
