A local charity has been selected to take part in the national Big Give Arts Impact Campaign.
Evolve Music has been offering free community music sessions to local families since 2017, and has since become an integral part of the community.
It operates primarily in the Locking Castle and Locking Children’s Centre in Worle.
This is where dads and male caregivers are encouraged to take part in music sessions with their young children.
Over the past four years, these sessions have allowed hundreds of individuals to connect with their community, work with professional musicians and develop a passion for music.
After a rigorous selection process, Evolve Music has been duly recognised and chosen to participate in the Big Give Arts Impact programme.
As a part of this programme, the charity is tasked with the formidable challenge of raising £2500 in one week.
However, the reward will arguably be worth the effort: if successful, the sum raised will be matched by Big Give donors, resulting in a total of £5000 being directed towards the charity.
The funds aim to further enhance Evolve Music's early years music programme, notably the Saturday Dads Rock project.
Chair of Evolve Music, Claire King, firmly believes this opportunity will facilitate the charity's growth.
She said: "This is an exciting opportunity for Evolve Music.
"We’re looking to raise £5000 to support our far-reaching early years programme that makes a real difference to people’s lives.
"If we can raise £2500 then Big Give will match it and this will enable us to expand the work we feel so passionate about".
The fundraising campaign commences on March 19 at 12pm and runs until 11.59am on March 26.
During this period, all donations made via the Big Give website will be matched up to £2500.
Evolve Music thus encourages local residents to use this opportunity to make their donations count twice as much.
The charity can be contacted at 07943 973473 for more information, or pledges can be made via https://forms.gle/vRgAFjqRV8X62djb7.
Evolve Music prides itself in delivering music programmes for children and young people across southwest England.
Last year alone, the charity orchestrated over 250 community music sessions for more than 2000 children and families in the South West.
With help from the Big Give Campaign—and the generous support of local residents—Evolve Music can extend its reach even further, continuing to make a notable difference in the lives of many.
