Former Weston College student, Ellie, has returned to inspire current students with her journey to becoming an animal keeper.
Starting her career with a placement at Puxton Park during her time at the college, she set out on a path that has led her to work with some of the world's most fascinating creatures.
She currently finds herself on a sabbatical, during which she completed her dream of working with monkeys, and spent three months volunteering in South Africa.
For two months, she worked with Monkey Helpline, aiding in the rehabilitation of wild primates.
She then spent a month with International Primate Rescue, rescuing primates from illicit pet trade.
Her sterling work did not go unnoticed, with a full-time job offer coming her way.
Laura Link, subject area manager for Animal Management, said: : "It was great to see Ellie, who shared all about her fantastic experiences with our students.
"She only had one-week back in the UK, during her sabbatical, so we were very lucky that she came to visit before heading back to South Africa.
"Ellie has been on an incredible journey, and her passion really shines through, which our learners found really inspiring.
"It showed that through studying Animal Management, you can achieve your dream career, and work anywhere in the world."
Ellie's visit is a part of the animal management career excellence hub, a Weston College initiative aimed at preparing learners for the evolving job market.
