IN 2019, a mysterious sinkhole caused chaos on a residential street in Uphill.
Part of the street gave way in St Nicholas Road in May of that year, drawing crowds to the area.
Avon Fire and Rescue Service and police were called to the scene.
North Somerset Council was also called out to assess the sinkhole.
One family was temporarily evacuated from their home and the road was closed for three hours while emergency services inspected the hole.
Arrangements were made to back fill the hole to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians, as well as those living on the street.
Speaking at the time, a council spokesperson said: "An area officer was called to inspect the sinkhole over the weekend.
"An emergency order was raised to excavate and back fill the hole to make it safe.
"The situation will be monitored by the local area officer."
