England's natural habitats and ecosystems are in steep decline, prompting North Somerset Council and the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority to create a revolutionary Local Nature Recovery Toolkit.
This innovative solution aims to empower communities to take action for nature.
The toolkit provides local priorities for nature recovery and spotlights 'focus areas', where efforts to restore nature will bear the greatest fruit.
People are invited to comment on an interactive map and a survey, feedback from which will inform the final nature recovery strategy.
The residents' opportunity to respond to this initiative will remain open until Tuesday, May 14.
Councillor Annemieke Waite, North Somerset Council’s executive member for climate, waste and sustainability said: "After years of declining wildlife numbers, it is clear our ecosystems are in crisis, and need our help.
"It is important that we all do what we can to support our biodiversity and wildlife, but as a council we can improve nature on a much larger scale if we work with partners across the West of England."
She also said: "We are committed to protecting the environment and want to hear from you, whether you’re an interested resident, a farmer, a conservationist, or a policymaker.
"Your views and feedback are really important and will help us work out the best opportunities for nature recovery and let us help local wildlife thrive."
