THE leader of North Somerset Council, Cllr Mike Bell, has praised the progress made in delivering "more affordable and sustainable homes" in Weston and Nailsea.
This includes the Parklands development in Weston and the Uplands development in Nailsea.
Cllr Bell said: "Great to see good progress at the North Somerset Council led housing projects in Weston and Nailsea, helping to deliver more affordable and sustainable homes that are fit for the future.
"Parklands phase 1 in Weston will deliver 425 homes, of which at least 125 will be affordable, and 135 will be Net Zero. Uplands in Nailsea will deliver 52 homes, all Passivhaus standard with at least 20 affordable. The affordable homes are a combination of social rent and shared ownership.
"As well as helping to provide much needed new quality homes these sites, as they are being delivered on council-owned land, will provide a multi-million capital receipt to help fund other projects including schools, infrastructure and the council's wider capital programme."
