POLICE in Weston seized five vehicles last week following a proactive roads policing operation.
The operation, which took place last Wednesday (April 24), also saw one driver reported for using a mobile phone at the wheel and a motorist stopped for travelling at speeds of up to 95 mph on the M5.
Police carried out the operation to keep our roads safe from "dangerous" drivers.
A North Somerset Neighbourhood Policing spokesperson said: "Last Wednesday, a proactive roads policing operation in Weston-super-Mare, led by our Special Constabulary, resulted in:
"• Five vehicles seized for no insurance;
"• One driver reported for using a mobile phone at the wheel;
"• One driver stopped for travelling at speeds of up to 95 mph on the M5.
"Our officers will continue to carry out stop checks and respond to reports from the public to keep our roads free from dangerous and irresponsible drivers."
