THE mayor of Weston, Cllr Ciaran Cronnelly, has marked a major milestone - 100 mentions in news outlets.
Cllr Cronnelly said: "A key focus during my term as Mayor has been to proudly celebrate Weston-super-Mare. To shout loudly about how fantastic our town is, how brilliant the community is and how vibrant our businesses are.
"I've been keen to focus on the positives of Weston-super-Mare - I'm proud of the town and I know you all are too.
"With days remaining until I leave as Mayor I've become aware that today is the 100th time I've been mentioned in news outlets, including newspaper, radio and TV in the last 12 months.
"This is not my achievement, but all of yours. It shows just how many positive things are happening in Weston-super-Mare that I've been able to showcase during my term.
"I'm only in the media because we have something to say and show in Weston-super-Mare - and we have lots.
"The sheer volume of amazing initiatives, communities and businesses in Weston-super-Mare is immense, and this is just a small amount of the brilliance happening in Weston-super-Mare. There are loads more that don't always get more public recognition."
