The Wurzels have given their backing to Paul Hobbs for the upcoming 30th Anniversary Grand Pier Walk.
Weston's charity fundraiser received this endorsement for his latest endeavour scheduled for August 15.
The esteemed Somerset entertainers offered their support after meeting Mr Hobbs in their dressing room at Bristol City’s Ashton Gate Stadium last Saturday.
Paul Hobbs, who celebrated his 75th birthday on the same day, was interviewed on the pitch at half time about his mission to raise £10,000.
The Wurzels then treated the crowd to a performance marking the end of Bristol City’s league season.
Mr Hobbs said: "It was really good of The Wurzels to spend some time with me and lend their support for my walk.
"It is so important to get the message out there and attract donations because the money we can raise for Cancer Research UK is urgently needed to fund research into some of the rarer forms of the disease."
He added: "The boys admitted that 30 miles is a bit too far for them to walk but their words have inspired me to make this event a big success."
Donations for the walk are being accepted via the Cancer Research UK fundraising page online.
