PRIOR approval is being sought to turn a Congresbury hair salon into a four-bedroom residential unit.

Written by Gibson Architecture, the application's cover letter for Broad Street Hair, which was validated on May 13, reads: "This proposal is for Broad Street Hair, Congresbury, which is currently a Class E unit (hair salon), the site has been in this use for 20+ years after having previously been a dwellinghouse.

"The proposal seeks to convert the building into 1 four-bedroom residential unit. This is one of a number of Broad Street Hair locations, with another being nearby in Yatton.

"This site currently consists of a hair salon, with three private treatment rooms and an office. These is a double garage in the rear land, a larger rear parking area and a generous garden. There is also a garden store to the side of the garage."

Broad Street Hair has been approached for a comment.
