WESTON'S Coastguard Rescue Team have celebrated Women in Maritime Day this weekend (Saturday, May 18).
Speaking yesterday, a spokesperson from the Weston-super-Mare Coastguard Rescue Team said: "Happy International Women in Maritime Day!
"Today, we are excited to celebrate Women in Maritime Day!
"We are very fortunate to have four amazing women here in Weston-super-Mare Coastguard Rescue Team who all play a vital role in our team where everyone’s skills and strengths come together.
"Let’s celebrate Beth, Cheryl, Marieke and Nic and all the other incredible women who work or volunteer in the maritime industry, who inspire us with their resilience and passion by giving them all a big thumbs up on our post
"Remember, if you, or if you should see anyone in danger around our coastline or at sea then please call and ask for the Coastguard."
