It is currently 2024’s Mental Health Awareness Week and to raise awareness for the cause Spartans Football Club have announced their latest fundraiser #Cheddar2Bristol.
The Bristol based football club will be marching over 20 miles in August, from Cheddar through the countryside lanes of Somerset to the centre of Bristol in order to raise money for charity, and all whilst wearing their club-themed spartan armour.
The #Cheddar2Bristol march matches perfectly with this year’s awareness week theme of movement and comes after the success of the Spartans’ last fund raiser which helped raise over £3000 for charity.
Spartans have been continually talking about mental health with their #TackleTheStigma campaign and this year the football club’s chosen charity will be Bristol Mind, a mental health resource which helps provide support and services for the city and its surrounding areas.
Services such as the Bristol Mind helpline, counselling, hate crime services, and refugee services are all provided by the charity free of charge.
The Spartans encourage anyone to join them on their 20-mile march through Somerset and will be stopping in several places along the way with cash buckets to meet any supporters.
They will also be holding more fund raisers before the march and have a GoFundMe link here for any donations and contributions.
