THREE operators have been selected to run kiosks in prime positions on Weston seafront - Royal Sands Kiosk, Carlton Kiosk (currently called the Cove Kiosk) and Clifton Sands Kiosk.
Royal Sands Kiosk will be reopening under a new operator, JRA & ML Cavaciuti, whilst Carlton Kiosk (currently called the Cove Kiosk) will be retained by its current operator, Starfish Catering Ltd.
Additionally, Clifton Sands Kiosk will be retained by its current operator, K&P Seaside Sales.
Both Clifton Sands Kiosk and Cove Kiosk are set to remain open during the summer season.
The operators will carry out repair works to both sites, including adding new decking and refreshing the spaces, over the next year.
The new operators of Royal Sands will be carrying out improvement works before reopening.
Councillor Mike Solomon, North Somerset Council’s executive member for culture and leisure, said: “These three seafront kiosks are hugely popular with visitors and residents alike, so it’s fantastic news that new lease agreements have been signed for all three spaces.
“Starfish Catering Ltd and K&P Seaside Sales have both done fantastic jobs running the Cove and Clifton Sands Kiosk respectively, and I’m sure both kiosks are set to have bright futures with them at the helm.
“Residents will no doubt be particularly pleased that Royal Sands Kiosk is set to open its doors to the public once more. My congratulations to JRA & ML Cavaciuti for being selected to run the kiosk, and I look forward to seeing it thrive.”
Julian and Lou Cavaciuti, owners of JRA & ML Cavaciuti, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming visitors and locals to The Royal Sands, for a relaxing coffee or ice cream in a stunning location.”
Kevin Mager, owner of K&P Seaside Sales, said: “I’d like to say how happy we are to continue operating the Clifton Sands kiosk. It’s a bit special to us because we have run the kiosk for around 30 years. We will be starting work to improve the space in September, because the summer season is upon us.”
Heath and Gemma Hardy, owners of Starfish Catering Ltd, said: “We are over the moon to have been chosen to continue running the Cove, securing our existing business for the next 15 years. This will allow us to redevelop the site and offer a wider range to locals and visitors alike.”
