Weston Brass and the Royal British Legion will join forces to celebrate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
The landmark moment in history took place on June 6, 1944, when the largest naval, air and land military operation was launched.
Now known as D-Day, it was the start of Operation Overlord, an allied operation involving 13 nationalities with the aim of liberating German-occupied northern France.
The two organisations have planned a commemorative concert named D-Day 80 to pay tribute to this monumental event.
The concert is to be held at the Blakehay Theatre in Weston-super-Mare on June 22.
It will re-tell the story of D-Day, from the preparations and the impact of the American influence on Britain, across the voyage on the channel, to the drama of the beach landings and the final liberation of Normandy.
Paul Field, the band chairman, said: "The band is delighted to be performing at the wonderful Blakehay Theatre again and really honoured to be working with the Royal British Legion.
"We’ve worked very hard to put on a show using music and song with first-hand accounts and experiences of people who were there to tell the end-to-end story of D-Day."
The performance will be narrated by former BBC Radio Bristol presenter Emma Britton.
Additionally, local singer Sally Holliday will perform 40s-style vocals, adding to the wartime ambience of the event.
Weston Brass will share local stories connecting the area to D-Day, one of such being the visit to Weston-super-Mare by General Eisenhower, supreme commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force, just days before D-Day.
Eisenhower chose to sleep in a military caravan with his troops rather than staying at a local hotel.
Lyn Lovell, vice-chairman of the Weston-Super-Mare branch of the Royal British Legion, spoke of the significance of the concert in raising awareness about the work of the Royal British Legion.
He said: "We are very grateful for the support of Weston Brass to help in what will be our flagship event to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day in Weston-super-Mare.
"It is so critical for us to continue to raise awareness of the work the Royal British Legion does for past and future veterans and raise money for the Poppy Appeal."
Tickets for the D-Day 80 concert can be purchased online and cost £13 each.
This includes a donation to the Royal British Legion.
