A staff member at a Weston-super-Mare supported housing service is celebrating a win at a national industry awards.

Alexandra Reynolds, a project worker at Weston Foyer, won the Care and Support Worker Award at the national Housing with Care Awards on June 7.

The service provides accommodation and support for homeless young individuals.

Ms Reynolds was recognized for her positive attitude, caring approach and the additional efforts she makes in supporting the young people with whom she works.

Her personal story of once being a resident at the service before returning as a staff member to aid others was also noted by the judges.

Weston Foyer, administered by Sanctuary Supported Living (SSL), had a successful night at the awards.

With a staggering 18 final nominations, it achieved four award wins and was also deemed 'highly commended' in an additional two categories.

This success surpassed the company's previous record of 13 finalists and three winners.
