GIVE your old devices a new purpose with a tech donation event outside Weston Town Hall.
North Somerset Council invites residents to give their unused or outdated technology a second lease of life on Saturday, July 27.
A spokesperson for the local authority explained: "The Donate IT Tech Amnesty is a chance for you to offload unused or outdated technology, whether it's an old laptop, smartphone, or tablet.
"These donations will be refurbished by Donate IT and then distributed to individuals and families in our local communities who need them.
"Your old devices can become valuable tools for students and families who lack the resources to purchase new technology, helping bridge the digital divide and supporting education for all."
Donate IT will be on the central chambers forecourt outside Weston Town Hall, ready to transform old tech into opportunities for job hunting, accessing essential services or keeping in touch with family.
Donations will support recipients identified by the Opportunity North Somerset programme, funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Before donating your devices, remember to unlink Apple devices from your iCloud account and perform a factory reset on Samsung devices via settings.
By donating, you contribute to reducing electronic waste and promoting a sustainable environment.
